My Favorite Books

April 28, 2008 at 4:45 am (Books) (, )

It’s difficult to rank the books I’ve read, especially when comparing classics and modern literature, and children’s books with adult novels. The top three are my favorites all around.

In no particular order:

1. The Bartimaeus Trilogy – Jonathan Stroud

2. To Kill a Mockingbird – Harper Lee

3. Crime and Punishment – Fyodor Dostoevsky

Then, of the various other books that I consider amazing, but are not among the top three:

-The Harry Potter series – J. K. Rowling

-His Dark Materials – Phillip Pullman

-The Lovely Bones – Alice Sebold

-The Big Over Easy – Jasper Fforde

-Lolita – Vladimir Nabokov

-The Abhorsen Trilogy – Garth Nix

-The Princess Bride – William Goldman

-The Catcher in the Rye – J. D. Salinger

-The Lord of the Rings – J. R. R. Tolkien

-The Curios Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time – Mark Haddon
